Redwood Pediatric Therapy Associates is pleased to offer special interest
small group camps for children with
special needs. Families can choose a
camp that matches the interests and
desired target skills to address. These
camps will be organized into small groups
(4-5 campers in each group.) All camps
are designed to provide opportunities
to further develop social and sensory
motor skills required for successful group
interaction within a special interest theme.
Each camp includes a final project or activity. An occupational therapist and a
trained assistant will facilitate each camp.
- (Pre-Kindergarten) ($325)
Target skills: social/play skills through reciprocal
interaction; sensory motor through movement,
motor planning, tactile; motor skills through
equipment use, upper body/core strengthening; finemotor through writing, drawing and tool use. Small World campers will
participate in a variety of sensory-based activities.
Each session will be based on a new “place” from
around the world. Campers will make a “world
passport” to share their great adventures.
CAMP SESSION: MONDAY - FRIDAY - (10:00am - 12:00 Noon) - Call for information
- Interests: Cooking/Food/Culture ($325)
Target skills: social skills through group/team
building, turn-taking, problem-solving; sensory-motor
through working with ingredients and tools, motor
planning/sequencing with following multiple steps;
fine motor through writing, drawing, tool use
Final project: Recipe book produced by campers
CAMP SESSION: MONDAY - FRIDAY - June 4th - June 8th - (1:00pm - 3:00 pm)
- Interests; Moving. Active Play ($325)
Target skills: social/play skills
through reciprocal interaction;
sensory-motor through
movement, motor planning,
tactile; motor skills through
equipment use, upper body
and core strengthening
Final project: Movement carnival party
incorporating all skills/type of sensory motor
incorporated throughout each day
CAMP SESSION: MONDAY - FRIDAY - June 18th - June 22nd Grades K-2 - (12:30-2:30)
CAMP SESSION: MONDAY - FRIDAY - June 25th - June 29th Grades 3-5 - (3:00-5:00)
- Developing motivation and confidence in writing ($395)
Target skills: social skills through small group
interaction during sensory based activities;
writing skills will be explored through different
sensory systems – tactile, proprioceptive,
movement (vestibular) and motor planning,
visual and auditory
What to expect: Campers will participate in a
variety of sensory-based activities encouraging
development of skills required for writing
including correct letter formation, spatial
awareness / organization, visual memory, grasp,
hand strengthening and bilateral coordination.
Campers will participate in writing activities/projects according to age and skill. Parents will
be provided with information of sensory systems
and how they are involved with writing and
given activity ideas for continuation at home.
CAMP SESSION 1: MONDAY - FRIDAY - July 23rd - July 27th Ages 6 yrs - 8 yrs - (9:00am -12:00 Noon)
CAMP SESSION 2: MONDAY - FRIDAY - July 30th - Aug. 4rd Ages 9yrs - 12 yrs - (9:00am -12:00 Noon)
If you are interested in a particular camp but the following dates or times do not work for your family, please call RPTA to get placed on a list. if there is enough interest from other families, we may have the staff available to create a new group.

Enrollment is limited
Cancellations must be made in writing prior to 2 weeks before the start of camp. No refunds will be made for cancellations beyond 2 weeks prior to start of camp.
